Te'o learned of numerous institutions' interest in him before the start of his senior year. He contributed to his high school's first-ever state victory that year. In addition, he recorded 129 tackles, 11 sacks, and 4 touchdowns. It was a remarkable play when he returned a blocked punt for a touchdown.
