Host an OpenFusion Server
OpenFusion can be run as a local or community server. Start locally, keep the server and client versions matched, and expose a port to the internet only after you understand the security and network implications.

Start here
- Get the current server releaseUse the FusionFall community hub to find the current OpenFusion server files and release notes for the build you intend to host.
- Choose Original or AcademyConfigure a client build that matches the server version you intend to host.
- Run locally firstStart the server executable and add a Simple Server in the launcher. The documented default local login address is 127.0.0.1:23000.
- Back up configuration and accountsPreserve the server configuration and account database before updates or public access.
Public hosting needs additional care
Port forwarding, firewall rules, updates, logs and account security become your responsibility when other people can connect. Do not expose an untested server or reuse credentials from your forum or hosting panel.
- Use unique credentials.
- Back up before updating.
- Keep the operating system and server build maintained.
Confirm the current server instructions
Configuration details can change between releases. The FusionFall community hub can point you to the current server package, release notes and live setup help while this guide keeps the core version-matching and local-testing workflow in one place.
- Match the server package to Original or Academy.
- Test on 127.0.0.1 before opening a firewall port.
- Back up configuration and account data before updating.
