FusionFall Original, Academy or Retrobution?

Original/Future and Academy are preserved snapshots from different eras of FusionFall, while Retrobution is a community-updated modified experience. Choose what you want to play before installing because each server needs compatible files.

Original

The Original server targets the fully supported beta-20100104 build. It includes the Future opening and Nano-based progression, with 36 Nanos in the preserved game build.

  • Future-area opening
  • Nano missions control level progression
  • Requires an Original-compatible server

Academy

The Academy server targets the fully supported beta-20111013 build. It has the later Academy tutorial, 57 Nanos and leveling that is no longer tied to completing Nano missions; OpenFusion documents this build as less stable.

  • Academy-era introduction
  • Later content snapshot
  • Requires an Academy-compatible server

Retrobution

Retrobution is a separate community-driven modified experience inspired by FusionFall Retro. It uses the OpenFusion launcher workflow but is not one of the default preserved Original/Future or Academy servers.

  • Community updates and added content
  • Separate server setup and account
  • Follow current community instructions

FusionFall Reborn (FFReborn)

The FFReborn website describes a FusionFall project with new features and content. On September 6, 2026 (UTC), its public /servers page redirected to account login. That observation does not confirm a playable server, a downloadable client or compatibility with OpenFusion.

  • A website login and a working game server are separate requirements.
  • Use the project's current announcements to confirm availability before downloading or registering.
